CS371P Spring 2021: Week 4
What did you do this past week?
This past week, I finished the Collatz project, attended the lectures, and went to some office hours for this class! People ask some really good questions during office hours so I enjoyed just staying there and learning new information.
What’s in your way?
I don’t think anything is in my way right now!
What will you do next week?
Next week, I will continue to attend the lectures on time and I’m thinking of going to help hours next week as well to go over the material from this week and make sure I understand everything because we covered a lot of information.
If you read it, what did you think of the Pair Programming?
I enjoyed reading it! I enjoy pair programming because it’s just more fun than programming alone but I didn’t realize that pair programming increases both productivity and accuracy as well. I was especially shocked to see that in one study that was conducted, the productivity and accuracy of the pair programmers was more than twice as great as the solo programmers.
What was your experience of operators, pointers, and references? (this question will vary, week to week)
We learned a lot about operators, pointers, and references this past week and it was honestly a little overwhelming because we went at a pretty fast pace during class. I’m definitely going to review my notes this weekend and attend help hours next week to make sure I understand all the concepts perfectly.
What made you happy this week?
This past week, eating chocolate cake, watching WandaVision, and leaving the house, and going on walks with my friends made me happy.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My pick-of-the-week is a website called gather.town! It simulates walking around on a map and into different buildings and rooms by controlling an avatar that represents you on the map. It’s really neat because whenever you get close to another avatar, their video shows up and you have the option to talk to them like you do in-person when you pass by someone.
