Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Dallas, Texas, where I lived for 8 years before moving to Austin to attend UT Austin.

Why did you come to UT?

I came to UT because it has the best computer science program of all the public universities in the state and one of the best computer science programs in the country.

Why are you majoring in CS?

I am majoring in computer science because I can use the skills I learn in CS in many different fields and it is a very useful major in today’s world with millions of people relying on technology to complete daily, necessary tasks.

Why are you in this class?

I heard that this class teaches C++ and the first few programs focus on mastering C++ and I don’t know C++ that well and I wanted to take a class that would help me learn a new language as well as a CS topic such as object oriented programming.

How much C++ do you already know?

I only know the basic syntax that was required to complete projects in Dr. Gheith’s OS class. I don’t know much about the details and capabilities of what you can do with the language.

How did you feel about the cold calling?

I really like it. It’s a good way to make the class interactive and make sure the students are paying attention to the lecture as well as understanding it.

What made you happy this week?

Seeing my college friends after 10 months of quarantining :)

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to start early.
